Temple Festivals
The 10-day Brahmotsavam during Chittirai (April-May) and the Vaikunta Ekadasi during Margazhi (December-January) are celebrated with immense piety and enthusiasm here, drawing thousands of devotees. The float festival conducted during Masi (February-March) is also quite famous. These apart, many other festivals are also celebrated for Parthasarathy Swami and other Gods, Azhwars, and Acharyas here, almost throughout the year.
Among the 108 Divya Dasams, Thiruvallikeni sacredly known as Brandharanya Kshathiram commands a special and unique status in as much as Lord Sri Parthasarathy who preached the Universal Bhagavat Geetha to us through Partha (Arjuna) is mainly enshrined here. Other than Sri Venkakrishnan, there are also other holy shrines in this temple, which are dedicated to Sri Ranganathar, Sri Narasimhar, Sri Gajendra Varadhar and Sri Ramar thus all Emperumans (deities) are blessing the devotees.
கருவறையில் மூலவர் வேங்கட கிருஷ்ணர் தவிர ருக்மிணி பிராட்டி, பலராமன், சத்யகி, அனிருத்தன், பிரத்யும்னன் என குடும்ப சமேதகராக காட்சி தருகிறார்.
இவர்கள் தவிர பிற சன்னதிகளில் ஸ்ரீ வேதவல்லி தாயார், ஸ்ரீ மன்னாதர் (ரங்கநாதர், ஸ்ரீ ராமர், ஸ்ரீ கரிவரதர் (வரதராஜர் சுவாமி), துலசிங்கப் பெருமாள் நரசிம்மர், ஸ்ரீ ஆண்டாள், ஸ்ரீ ஆஞ்சநேயர், ஆழ்வார்கள், ராமானுஜர் , மணவாள மாமுனிகள் மற்றும் வேதாந்தாசாரியர் ஆகியோரும் காட்சி தருகின்றனர்.
மங்களாசாசனம் பாடப்பெற்ற பெருமாளின் 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில், இந்த திருக்கோயில் 61வது திவ்ய தேசம்.
9 அடி உயர திருமால், சாரதிக்குரிய மீசையோடு காட்சிதருவது ஆலயத்தின் சிறப்பு. குடும்ப சமேதராக பார்த்தசாரதி பெருமாள் காட்சியளிக்கிறார்.
தர்மத்தை நிலைநாட்ட வேண்டி அவதரித்தவர் பகவான் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணர். மகாபாரதப் போரில் பார்த்தனுக்கு தேரோட்டியாக போரில் பங்கேற்றார். பீஷ்மர் எய்த அம்புகளை அர்ஜுனனுக்காக தானே தன் மீது தாங்கியதால், திருமாலின் முகத்தில் பல்வேறு வடுக்கங்கள் ஏற்பட்டன. இப்படி ஏற்பட்ட வடுக்களை இப்போதும் உற்சாவர் திருமுகத்தில் காணலாம்.
இந்த ஐதீகத்தினால் தான் இந்த ஆலய மூலவர் ஸ்ரீ பார்த்தசாரதி என்றழைக்கப்படுகிறார்.
இக்கோவிலில் தென்கலை வைணவ பாரம்பரியமும் வைகம ஆகம முறையும் கடைப்பிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இங்கு சித்திரைத் திங்களின் போது ஸ்ரீ பார்த்தசாரதி சுவாமிக்கும் ஆனி மாதத்தில் ஸ்ரீ அழகியசிங்கருக்கும் பெரிய அளவில் பிரம்மோற்சவங்கள் நடைபெறுகின்றன.
அதனுடன் ஸ்ரீ ராமானுஜர் (ஏப்ரல்/ மே), ஸ்ரீ மணவாளமாமுனிகள் மற்றும் மற்ற ஆழ்வார்களுக்கும் ஆச்சாரியர்களுக்கும் பிரம்மாண்ட அளவில் உற்சவங்கள் நடைபெறுகின்றன. வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி மற்றும் சித்திரை திங்களின் போது இங்கு ஏராளமான பக்தர்கள் குவிகின்றனர். இச்சமயத்தில் இங்கு உள்ள மண்டபங்களில் நிறைய கதா காலக்ஷேபங்கள் (புராண கதை சொல்லுதல்) நடைபெறுகின்றன.
Parthasarathy Swami Temple is one of the most famous places of worship in Chennai city. This abode of Vishnu is also a celebrated Divyadesam that has been glorified by the Azhwar saints in their Divya Prabhandham compositions. Vaikunta Ekadasi festival at Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple at Triplicane in Chennai is held on the 11th day of waxing phase of moon in Margazhi month as per traditional Hindu calendar followed in Tamil Nadu. The most important ritual on the day is the Sorgavasal Darshan.
